It doesn’t seem all that long ago that I was 19 and working at the local computer store selling the latest and greatest Western Digital 540MB IDE hard drive for $499.

Also – it was a year ago that I purchased several 1TB drives for about $500 each which are selling now for about $100.

It is amazing how far storage has come.

Don’t forget – when you purchase a drive like this that you should have an equal amount of storage somewhere else to backup all of this stuff.

I purchased my first hard drive when I was 12 – a 10MB MFM hard drive for my IBM-Compatible 8088 computer. Wow.
